Data security is an inseparable part of data protection. While data protection is
defined by national or international laws and is thus subject to the greatest
differences worldwide, the same technology is used almost everywhere in the
world, so that it can be expected that data security problems will be at least
similar everywhere in the world. The introduction to this publication addresses in
particular the fact that a global network also entails cross-border problems and
challenges.
